Dar es Salaam Mei 4, 2013: Shirika la Women Footprints Initiative (WoFI), leo limefanya tamasha la hisani la familia lijulikanalo kama Cheza Time na kushirikisha watoto kutoka vituo vya kulelea watoto yatima ambao wamecheza michezo mbalimbali na kupata fursa ya kujumuika na ndugu zao. Tukio hilo la aina yake limefanyika katika viwanja vya Leaders Club.
Meneja miradi wa WoFI Neema N. Msuya amesema kuwa pamoja na kutoa burudani za michezo, tamasha hilo pia limetumika kupata fedha za kusaidia vituo hivyo vya watoto yatima na kuendeleza miradi ya wanawake inayoendeshwa na shirika hilo kwa lengo la kusaidia watoto na kuwawezesha kina mama kiuchumi..
Alisema kuwa kusudi kubwa ya shirika la WoFI ni kuwawezesha watoto hao kupata mahitaji yao ya msingi ikiwa ni pamoja na kuwapatia elimu na kuyataka makampuni, mashirika na watu binafsi kujitokeza kusaidia ili kuwajengea watoto hao msingi imara wa maisha yao ya baadaye.
“Tamasha la hisani la familia tunalofanya hapa leo linakusudiwa kuwa tukio la kila mwaka ambalo, mbali ya kuhamasisha wahisani kuchangia mfuko wa shirika, litatumika kama chombo cha kuwaunganisha watoto na ndugu na jamaa zao huku wakiburudika na vinywaji baridi, michezo mbalimbali pamoja na kucheza muziki”, alisema.
Tamasha la leo lililovuta hisia za watu mbalimbali lilishuhudia watoto wachangamfu wakishiriki michezo ikiwa ni pamoja na mpira wa miguu, kuruka, kuogolea na kukimbia ndani ya gunia. Watoto hao pia walipata fursa ya kuonyesha vipaji vyao vya kuimba na kucheza muziki.
Shirika la WoFI ambalo siyo la kibiashara vile vile huendesha kampeni ya kuwaelimisha wasichana walioacha shule kwa sababu mbalimbali kuachana na tabia hatarishi na kujishughulisha na biashara halali ili kujipatia kipato cha kuwasaidia katika maisha yao. Kampeni hii inafahamika kama Binti Amka.
Kampeni nyingine inayoendeshwa na shirika hili inajulikana kama Jitambue uwezo wako Sasa ambayo inawahamasisha wasichana wa shule za sekondari kusoma kwa bidii na kushinda vishawishi vilivyo mbele yao na hatimaye kutimiza ndoto za kuwa na maisha bora hapo baadaye.
