Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel has recognized Earth hour alongside thousands of people worldwide on the 23rd March 2013 by making a significant reduction on energy consumption, the most obvious was switching off most of the lights and using solar power.
This is an initiative that started in Sidney in 2007 with approximately 2.2 million people participating, this event has now got over 1 billion people from different countries participating so as to make a positive impact on climate change, one of the current initiatives is "I will if you will" which encourages people of different calibers to make a positive contribution to the climate and go beyond the 60 minutes.
