Dear Members,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support extended to the Squash Section, especially during the renovation and upgrade of the squash courts.
The time has now come today, that we are proud to announce that all squash courts have been renovated and upgraded at the Squash Section and a Squash Coach has finally anchored at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club.
The Club and the Squash Section is investing a lot to promote and develop squash for our members.
The Squash Section has therefore devised the following squash programmes:
1) Squash Training Programme (for Beginners & Intermediate Players); and
2) Squash Drilling & Practice Programme (for Intermediate and Advanced Squash Players)
The Hand Note with details of the Squash Training Programme will be circulated to you shortly. Should you require any information or further clarification please contact the Secretary on dgcsquash@gmail.com.
In order to implement the above 2 squash programmes, a full time Squash Coach has been employed by the Club. Mr. Enos Mwale, who is from Zambia and is currently Seeded as the No. 2 Seed in the National Mens Squash Rankings in Zambia.
I urge all members to take full advantage of this opportunity and to maximize the benefits you can gain from the Squash Training Programme and the Squash Drilling Programme. Both programmes are highly subsidized by the Club.
Members are reminded and requested to ensure that they obtain receipts immediately for all payments made to the Squash Section whether it is Monthly Court Fees, Daily Court Fees (as in the case for non-members), Squash Training Programme Fees or Squash Drilling Fees with the Coach.
I also appeal to all members to register themselves to participate in the Ladders League as this is very important for the participation of our Club in future local, regional and international tournaments. The Ladders League will be a 2-month programme which will commence in 2 May 2013. Deadline for registration is 30th April 2013.
For Non-Member squash players who would be interested to join the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club, the Squash Section will support and expedite membership applications.
The Squash Section is forging ahead with its Squash Vision Plan for 2013 and we look forward to the continued support from all Members.
Before I end my message, I would like record and appreciate on behalf of the Squash Section, the support from the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Management Committee, especially the Chairman of the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club, Mr. Dioniz Malinzi, who has supported the squash section in full capacity and at the same time has personally sponsored 3 months’ salary for the Squash Coach.
Thank you very much!
Akil Hirji
