The Board of Directors of Tanzania Standard (Newspapers) Limited (TSN) has appointed Mr Gabriel Nderumaki (pictured), the company's Acting Managing Editor effective December, 24, this year.
Mr Nderumaki (46) takes over from Mr Mkumbwa Ally whose contract with the company expired on December 15.
The new acting Managing Editor has been with TSN for over 20 years and served in senior editorial positions including Sports Editor, News Editor and Business Editor.
"I am ready for the new challenge and looking forward to getting maximum co-operation from readers, government, private sector and all other stakeholders," Mr Nderumaki.
He pledged that under his leadership, TSN who are the publisher of Daily News, Sunday News, Habari Leo, Habari Leo Jumapili and SpotiLeo, will continue to publish well researched educative and informative, as opposed to unreasonable sensational articles.
"We will continue to publish informative stories in support of the government's initiatives to improve the lives of Tanzanians and when necessary provide constructive criticism, as opposed to unreasonable sensational articles.
"To investors and the private sector, we will continue writing balanced and educational stories about their role in national development," he said.
TSN is a registered company and has been in the newspapers industry for more than 70 years. The company is currently wholly owned by the government.
The company also owns state-of-the-art printing press.
